RON VAUGHN WOODBLOCKS

	Ron originally developed these historically world-recognized woodblocks in the 1970’s. His previous production runs of these woodblocks are found today all over the world in many different performance mediums. He discontinued making them for two years after leaving his old company, until now. Ron’s new company, Ron Vaughn Percussion, now produces his classic woodblocks under Ron’s direct supervision and care again. As always, these solid body woodblocks are made from handpicked, select hardwoods from around the world. Ron continues today with the same highly trained staff that has been with him throughout the years. During production, each block is tuned to a specific target pitch. Then each block is further tuned for the ‘color’ or ‘tone’ of the pitch. This vital secondary tuning is where Ron’s signature sound is created, and is what has made Ron’s woodblocks so well known throughout the world over the past 40 years. “It’s like sound mixing in today’s studios, only completely by human ear”.
